All identify, Drilldown (GeoSearch), Query, and Selection Management results
are displayed in the Results Window. Error messages are also displayed in this
frame as well as legend and metadata information. When a results frame is being
populated with query results it will show the "Exploring Data" icon below.
In some instances query results will have icons at the end of each record.
These icons perform certain types of functions such as zoom to feature,
drilldown, or some other custom action operation. Two standard options that
come with MapOptix are Zoom to Feature and Drilldown or GeoSearch
Zoom to Feature: Zooms to the feature on the map that corresponds to the selected record in the query results. |
Drilldown (GeoSearch): Performs a drilldown query on the map feature that corresponds to the selected record in the query results. |
| There are a series of tools built into the results frame. Below is an example of all of the tools that might be available. |
Open Results in Excel: Downloads query results to an Excel spreadsheet that opens automatically on the desktop. This
will only work for computers with Microsoft Excel installed.
Open Results in PDF: Downloads query results to a PDF document that opens automatically on the desktop. This
will only work for computers with Adobe Reader installed.
Open Results in Flashpaper: Downloads query results to a Flashpaper document that opens automatically on the
desktop. This will only work for computers with Flash Player installed.
Open Results to a “|” Delimited File: Downloads query results to a user specified text file. The default
delimiter in the text filed is the “|” character. The MapOptix System Administrator can change the delimiter.
Download to Shapefile: Downloads selected map features to a shapefile. Only the native attributes associated
with map layer will be persevered in the shapefile. For more details on enabling this functionality please consult
the MapOptix Administration Guide.
Sort Results: Sort results in ascending or descending order based on a user-specified field. |
Graphing: Depending on the MapOptix site, this option may or may not be available.
Clicking on it will allow you to graph the results of your selection using a
variety of charts and charting methods. Below are some examples of potential
graphing output. You can create Pie, Bar, or Line charts using graphing “group”
functions such as Average, Maximum, Minimum, or Summary. The image output can
be in JPEG or Macromedia Flash format. Choose JPEG if you want to show all
values for printing. The Flash format will hide the individual graph values
until the mouse is moved over the pictured graph value.
